Choosing the right location for your investment in Miami real estate can be a tricky task, and you may well struggle at first thanks to the bewildering array of factors that you will need to consider when choosing the right place to live in the city.
While Downtown Miami is a great place to live for young people, and offers pretty much everything that you could possibly want right on your doorstep, it can be quite expensive to get onto the property ladder in the area thanks to very high prices for even the most basic apartment.
South Beach is another impossibly expensive place in which to find real estate in Miami, and beachfront properties in the art deco style can command a price tag that runs into the millions of dollars. There are occasional bargains that come on the market, however you will probably find, that if you are willing to go a little further off the beaten track and look at nearby areas such as key Biscayne in the south, where you will be within reach of the main areas, and prices are more realistic for anyone looking to make a decent return in the short to medium term.
One of the biggest growth areas in Miami real estate is in developing vacant land – or under used land - into more condominiums. If you feel like you have the necessary skills to get involved, and can find the right piece of land to build a development on, the potential returns are impressive and comparatively low risk; provided everything works out well throughout the rest of the process.
In well known areas such as Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, prices are equally high as in Miami, but if you go off the beaten track, and are willing to take a bigger risk, or want to make longer term investments in Miami Real Estate, there are neighborhoods where you can find very cheap property that can be renovated and resold at a hefty profit.
